It was the Nikon Auckland Photo day yesterday. The team from Nikon NZ has organised a photo walk event at the Wynyard Quarter here at the Auckland waterfront. They also brought along some of the latest gear like the D5, the D500 and the Nikkor AFS 200-500 VR for people to have a play.
It was great catching up with the Nikon NZ team, chatted about photography stuff with Nikon ambassador Mike Hollman, the awesome Harry Janssen, meeting some new friends and sharing information I’ve learnt about the latest Nikon gears with you all.
The Nikon D500 seems to be everyone’s favourite. Everyone who tried it are telling me how nice the camera feels and performs (which I completely agree!), and quite a few of them are full frame DSLR users.
Apologise I left in a hurry as I suddenly realised I was already way too late for my family event later that morning (time flies when I am talking about photography with people sharing similar interest) so I didn’t get to say goodbye to a lot of you. Hopefully will see some of you again very soon!
For those who couldn’t attend this awesome event, here are a few photos from yesterday morning.
All photos (except the B&W at the bottom) taken using Nikon Df + Nikon AF135mm f/2D DC and Nikon AF 16mm f/2.8 fisheye. I guess I don’t need to tell you which lens I used for each photo? 😉

ok, you shoot first or I shoot first?
I also brought along my Nikon F3 which had a few frames left in the roll so I shot all the remaining frames during the photo walk. And to follow the spirit of Auckland Photo day, I developed it last night as well (it was almost midnight by the time I finished developing it) and below are the photos I just scanned this morning.
All photos below taken using a Nikon F3 + Carl Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/2 ZF2 and Ilford HP5+ pushed to 1600
