Panasonic has just announced the new Lumix G100/G100 micro four thirds camera. It is a video centric camera designed for vlogging and it’s targetting the entry level market.
The size of the camera is very small and it only weights 419g (with the 12-32mm kit lens). It has a 20MP image sensor, a large 3.680k (equiv) EVF, free-angle flip out LCD screen, mic phone jack but it does not have a in-body image stabiliser. It can shoot 4k video up to 30fps and comes with a few features that makes vlogging very easy.
However the feature I found most exciting and interesting is it’s built-in microphone, and there are 3 of them. The Lumix G100 also utilise the Ozo audio technology by Nokia to capture high quality, clear audio using the built-in mic and it can capture audio from a particular direction.
Here is a short video demonstrate the microphone on the G100 and how when you set to different mode would affect the audio captured:
And here is my review of the Panasonic Lumix G100/G100
