The biggest challenge being a wedding photographer is the ability to consistently create beautiful photos with both quality and quantity, as we are trusted to capture one of the most important and beautiful day in your life.

At Lisa and Adam’s wedding last Sunday, we only had just over 1 hour to do the formal bridal party photos and we all knew it would be a bit tight on time. What makes it even more difficult was the fact that by the time we started doing the bridal party photos, the sun was almost already down the hill.

As you can imagine, creating a good number of beautiful photos within the allocated time was really quite challenging..

Fortunately our bride Lisa not only look stunning but also can moves swiftly. It may not sound difficult but walking through the garden with the wedding dress on after dark isn’t really an easy task but Lisa had no problem keeping up with us.

In the end, we managed to take 21 groups of bridal party photo within the 70 minutes time frame. That means on average just 3 minutes for each group of photos. This included walking around and finding suitable spots for the photos, trying out different poses and ideas, and a very important thing, light up the scene with multiple set of lights as half of the photos were taken after sunset. But even before the sunset, adding a few external speedlights could dramatically improve the photos.
