Teresa and Duncan

As a photographer, normally if i have any outdoor photoshoot on that day, the first thing I do when i wake up in the morning is look outside the window and hope to see a sunny day and a blue sky. Unfortunately it was not the case on Teresa and Duncan’s wedding day. Looking outside the window, the sky was grey and the ground was wet. Not really the best weather for taking wedding photos. Anyway, no point keep looking at the dull sky so I checked all my camera gear again before I left home and drove to Teresa’s home. My windscreen wiper was on most of the time on the way to Teresa’s home and I couldn’t see any blue colour in the sky.
Anyway I arrived Teresa’s home when Teresa and her family was just about to finish their breakfast, perfect timing for me to start capturing this very important day.
While Teresa and Duncan are both Chinese, their wedding was a complete Western style held at the Mollies hotel at Ponsonby. Mollies is a small but luxury hotel hidden in Ponsonby. It gives you a special warm and home feeling that most modern hotel can’t give you.
The wedding ceremoney was held at the romanatic foyer of the hotel and after the ceremony,we went to it’s beautiful cottage garden and took a few photos and also the group photos as well. When we were taking photos there, I looked up to the sky again and I can’t believe my eyes when i saw a beauitful blue sky! The weather was just wonderful and perfect timing for us to start the location shots!
So we went to the Mission bay and Bastion Point and did the location shots under the most beautiful lighting you can hope for. I’m sure no one would have thought the after would be so beauitful earlier that day ! Of course no one would complain neither 😉
During the pre-wedding consultation session, Tersea and Duncan kept telling me that they don’t know how to pose at all and a bit worried about that, but the truth is, they are actually very good and even my assistant told me he thought this lovely couple did extremely well in front of the camera
After the location shots we then head back to Mollies which is also the venue for the wedding reception. With all those candle lit tables and beautifully decorations, the restaurant is just the perfect place for a romanatic dinner and for the couple and their family and friends to celebrate their wedding.

Here are some photos from that day. i hope you enjoy them.

Isn’t it very sweet of Tersea and Duncan that they sent me a thank you card after the wedding. It’s really a great feeling when you know your clients love your photos and you helped them capture a very important date of their life.
